We run a Literacy Week every other year, part of the week long celebration is a Read-a-thon. Details of previous events are described below.
To promote reading, St. Mary’s students will be participating in a Read-a-thon this April. A Read-A-Thon is designed to reinforce good reading habits while raising funds to support our classroom libraries and school wide reading programs. Students will ask for pledges for how many pages, books, or minutes they can read in a set amount of time: April 12-20, 2018!
As an added twist we will be dividing the school into four competing houses during the Read-a-thon. Students will be told which house they belong to during our opening assembly on April 12!
Families, friends and neighbours can also pledge a flat rate. The goal is to read as many pages, books, or minutes as you can to raise as much money as you can.
All pledges are due to the homeroom teacher by April 19th because the Grande Reveal will take place at the Closing Assembly on Friday, April 20.
